Eyelash extension is a non-surgical cosmetic procedure in which semi-permanent synthetic lashes with desired lengths and curls are attached to your natural eyelashes using a semi-permanent glue to make them look longer, thicker, and darker. The results last for up to 8 weeks. Eyelash extensions may be done using synthetic, silk, or mink lashes. However, you may have to avoid using mink lashes if you are allergic or a committed vegan. Silk and mink lashes usually offer a more natural look and synthetic ones provide a bolder change with longer and darker eyelashes.

Cheek implants are usually made of silicone and are placed in the cheek area to make them look fuller and more shapely and enhance the contours of the middle face. The procedure of inserting implants leaves minimal scars since incisions are made inside the mouth or lower eyelid. Cheek implants are permanent but the procedure is reversible since silicone implants do not integrate with the cheek tissues and could be simply removed.
Cheekbone reduction is a procedure that reduces prominent cheekbones to narrow the facial width either by removing the excess fat or by shaving the cheekbones. It may be performed through three different methods to address the needs of people with different types of cheek projection, including the L-shaped osteotomy mainly performed to reduce frontal malar protrusion, the malar rotation technique addressing concerns of people with a lateral malar protrusion, and the scalp approach for those with both lateral and frontal protrusion of the malar. The results are permanent and are noticeable usually 2 to 3 weeks after the surgery.
Septoplasty is a procedure that corrects a deviated septum or other deformities in the nasal septum (the boney structure separating the nostrils). It is usually done to reduce the risk of sinus infections, fix a breathing problem caused by a deviated septum, and straighten a crooked nose. The procedure includes cutting and repositioning a part of the septum to the middle of the nose. It is usually done through small incisions inside the nose. However, sometimes it may be necessary to make an incision between the nostrils. The nasal tissues will be quite stable 3 to 6 months after the surgery.
Tooth Extraction
Tooth extraction is the removal of a tooth that is badly damaged or infected and can’t be restored in any way. However, sometimes a tooth extraction may be recommended to fix teeth crowding and as a part of orthodontic treatments to provide space for other teeth. Tooth extraction is usually a quick and simple procedure done under local anesthesia. However, a surgical extraction may be required in some cases, for instance, if there’s an impacted tooth, a severely broken one, or a tooth with a very long curved root.
Dental braces are orthodontic devices that are attached to the teeth for a period of 1 to 3 years to straighten crooked or malaligned teeth by gradually moving them to the right position. The best age to get braces is 10 to 14. Orthodontic treatments may take longer in adults as it's harder to have their already settled teeth and jaw adjusted. Dental braces have evolved over time mainly to be less noticeable but more comfortable and are available in different types based on the patient's conditions and preferences. The results of dental braces usually last a lifetime.
Clear aligners are removable transparent devices used as an alternative to metal braces for straighten crooked and misaligned teeth by moving them to the right position. Aligner trays are custom-made for each patient, must be worn for 20 to 22 hours a day, and need to be switched out every 1 to 3 weeks. They can fix a range of mild to moderate teeth irregularity issues such as crowded teeth, gapping, overbites, underbites, and crossbites. The treatment usually takes 6 to 24 months.
Scaling and root planing is a deep cleaning procedure in which dental plaque and calculus (tartar) is removed from the teeth above and below the gumline, used to fight gum disease, promote oral health, and improve the appearance of the teeth. While scaling and root planning are recommended to everyone, they become particularly critical for people with receding gums or gum disease to prevent its aggravation. Depending on the patient’s condition, a dentist may recommend scaling and root planning twice a year or more.
Dentures
Dentures are removable appliances that are designed to replace missing teeth to restore their function and appearance. Partial dentures are used when one or more natural teeth have remained. Complete dentures, replacing a full set of teeth, are either immediate (pre-made and ready to be used after removing the teeth) or conventional (made and placed after gums have been healed, about 8 to 12 weeks following the tooth removal). Immediate dentures should be considered as a temporary solution before the conventional ones can be used. Since they may not properly fit as the gums and bones shrink during the healing process.
A Gum tissue graft is a gum treatment performed to treat receding gum (gingival recession), in which healthy gum tissue is taken from the roof of the mouth or nearby healthy gum and attached to the affected area where teeth roots are exposed. Gum grafting reduces the risk of gum disease, tooth decay, sensitivity, and bone loss resulting from receding gums and also enhances your smile appearance. Gum grafts will remain for a lifetime with good care.
A gum lift is a procedure that lifts up and contours the gum line to treat a gummy smile or excessive gingival display caused by excessive growth of gums over the teeth that result in round or square teeth. The procedure includes reducing the gum tissue and reshaping the remaining part to create a shorter gumline that properly frames your teeth. You may experience mild discomfort and swelling for a few days after the procedure but your gums heal in a week. The effects of gum contouring are permanent since the removed tissue will not grow back.
Lip implant surgery is a permanent lip augmentation procedure in which special implants, usually made of silicone or expanded polytetrafluoroethylene, are inserted into the lips to make them look fuller and plumper. The recovery time of the surgery is about 1 to 3 days. This lip augmentation method is a perfect option for those with enough lip tissue to stretch over the implant and hide it and who are interested in a permanent solution. However, the procedure is reversible and the implants can be removed if you are no longer interested.
Lip reduction is a cosmetic procedure to reduce the size and prominence of the lips for people who are dissatisfied with their overly large lips whether it’s natural or a result of a prior lip augmentation surgery. Also, it could help people dissatisfied with lip asymmetry which may occur due to aging. Lip reduction surgery involves removing a part of the skin and fat tissue through incisions in the pink inner part of the lips which minimizes scarring. The results are immediate and permanent.
Jaw implant surgery is a cosmetic procedure that involves placing specially designed implants along the jawline to enhance its definition and contours for a more balanced and aesthetically pleasing overall shape of the face. Jaw implant surgery can help people who wish for a more defined jawline. It could also serve as part of the facial masculinization journey to help create a more angled facial profile. Jaw implants could be placed under the ear and are intended to be permanent.
Adam's apple reduction is a procedure that reduces the protrusion of Adam’s apple, a lump of cartilage that sticks out from the throat. It is intended to make the neck smoother, usually as part of a facial feminization surgery. The procedure is done through an incision under the chin to shave and remove the thyroid cartilage and its borders without damaging the vocal cords. The incision will be made within a skin crease so that it won’t lead to a noticeable scar later on. You will be advised to rest your voice for several days following the surgery. The surgery result is permanent and the cartilage won’t grow back.
Lipoma removal surgery is a minor procedure to remove benign lumps under the skin caused by an overgrowth of fat cells, known as lipomas. Lipomas can occur in any part of the body where fat is present. While the underlying reason is not fully understood, genetic factors seem to be playing an important role as lipomas usually run in families. Most removal surgeries are conducted under local anesthesia. However, if you have a very large lipoma or if it is located in a sensitive area, you may need to receive sedation during the procedure. Treated lipomas usually won’t grow back, but you may grow another one in a different area of your body.
Birthmark removal is a procedure to remove a colored mark present at birth or developed shortly after birth, known as a birthmark. Birthmark removal techniques include surgical removal or shaving of the mark, laser therapy, and using medicines to shrink the marks. While birthmarks present on any part of the body could be removed, people often consider having facial ones treated as they’re more visible and affect their appearance. Most birthmarks can be removed permanently, but some types are likely to grow back and may need to be treated again after months or years.
Sclerotherapy is a procedure in which a solution is injected into blood vessels to make them shrink, performed to treat blood vessel malformations such as varicose or spider veins. The treated veins usually fade in a few weeks but sometimes it takes a month for the results to show up. The related symptoms such as aching, swelling, or bruising could also be improved. Depending on the severity of the condition, several treatment sessions may be needed. While the result of the sclerotherapy is permanent and the treated veins fade away, it does not prevent the development of new varicose or spider veins over time.
Photorejuvenation is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure that uses light-based technology to improve skin tone, texture, and appearance. This treatment targets various skin concerns such as sun damage, age spots, freckles, redness, and uneven pigmentation by delivering pulses of light energy into the skin. Photorejuvenation stimulates collagen production, reduces signs of aging, and promotes skin regeneration, resulting in smoother, clearer, and more youthful-looking skin. It is a popular option for enhancing overall skin health and appearance without surgery or downtime.
