Overview
Clitoroplasty is a procedure to create a clitoris with a normal look while preserving its normal sensation, usually done to treat congenital adrenal hyperplasia, pseudohermaphroditism, and ambiguous genitalia or as part of sex reassignment surgery. Clitoroplasty can be done in young children, teenagers, and adults, however, it is more common in children. Since the procedure can pose the risk of losing sensation in adult women, doctors usually don’t recommend it for merely aesthetic purposes.
