Dr. Tufan Ergenc

Dr. Tufan Ergenc was born in 1979 in Kütahya, Turkey. He completed his primary and secondary education in his hometown before attending Afyon Science High School. Dr. Ergenc received his medical degree from Uludağ University Faculty of Medicine in 2002 and went on to specialize in General Surgery at Pamukkale University, completing his specialization in 2009.

Dr. Ergenc's professional journey started in Kars Susuz district where he initially worked as a physician. His career has spanned various roles in the private sector and in government-affiliated health institutions. Following his military service at the Kayseri air transport command, Dr. Ergenc focused on obesity surgery, a field in which he has been active since 2009.

Since completing his specialty, Dr. Ergenc has been dedicated to the practice of advanced laparoscopic and obesity surgery. He utilizes specific surgical techniques aimed at minimizing postoperative complications. Dr. Ergenc has been involved in obesity surgery, applying his skills in both laparoscopic procedures and sleeve gastrectomy at his clinic in Izmir, Turkey. His clinic, founded in 2016, offers services with the support of dietitians, nurses, and coordinators, emphasizing patient-oriented approaches.

Dr. Ergenc is a member of the Obesity Society and the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgery. He continues his work and research in obesity surgery from his base in Izmir, where he lives with his family.
