Dr. Ahrens studied medicine at the Georg August University of Göttingen and the Free University of Berlin. He received general surgical training at the Accident Hospital Berlin and University Hospital Greifswald and underwent training in plastic and reconstructive surgery at Sanssouci Clinic, Goerlitz Clinic, ad Unfallkrankenhaus Berlin (ukb). He became a Senior Physician at the Plastic Surgery Section of the University Hospital Lübeck in 2012.
