Dr. Javier Herrero Jover

Dr. Javier Herrero Jover is a well-known plastic surgeon based in Barcelona, Spain, and the founder and head of the Herrero Jover Médicos Center at Teknon Hospital, Barcelona. He is a pioneer in the use of 3D visualization and virtual reality in planning and carrying out plastic surgery operations.

Dr. Herrero Jover received his MD from the University of Barcelona in 1980 and completed a residency program in plastic and reconstructive surgery there in 1985. He also completed a fellowship in plastic surgery at the Clinic of the Universidade Federal Fluminense, Brazil, under the training of the iconic figure in plastic surgery, Professor Ivo Pitanguy. In 1986, Dr. Herrero Jover joined the General Hospital of Catalonia as a plastic surgeon. He received a doctorate cum laude from the Autonomous University of Barcelona in 1992.

Dr. Herrero Jover also founded Alma IT Systems in 2005, a company that specializes in digital medical imaging. He was the president of the company until 2012 when he established the Herrero Jover Médicos Center. He is the president of the Mediterranean Institute of Computer Assisted Radiology and Surgery (MICARS) and a member of the International Society for Computer Aided Surgery (ISCAS), the European Society for the promotion of Picture Archiving and Communication Systems in Medicine (EUROPACS), a consultant at and member of the committee of the International Foundation for Computer Assisted Radiology and Surgery (IFCARS). He is also a member of the Spanish and Brazilian societies for plastic surgery and the Spanish Society of Anti-aging and Longevity Medicine (SEMAL).
