Dr. Hakan Gok

Dr. Hakan Gok received his medical education at Istanbul University, followed by surgical training at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine and Vakıf Gureba Hospital. His professional focus is on the treatment of abdominal wall and inguinal hernias. During his early years as an assistant, he developed an interest in hernia surgery, which has since become a significant part of his work.

In 2003, Dr. Gok co-founded the Turkish Hernia Association, where he has served in various capacities, including as a member of the Board of Directors. His involvement in this field extends to international levels, marked by his participation in hernia congresses, seminars, and workshops in Europe and America. He has been a member of the European Hernia Association's Board of Directors since September 2020 and was previously part of the Social Media Committee of the same association from March 2017.

Dr. Gok's surgical career included a period at Acıbadem Health Group, specifically at Acıbadem Kozyatağı Hospital from 2009 to 2017. 

He holds the FEBS AWS (Fellow of European Board of Surgery, Abdominal Wall Surgery) certification from the Association of Medical Specialists UEMS. Dr. Gok is also a member of several professional organizations, such as the European Hernia Society, British Hernia Society, Turkish Hernia Society, and the Turkish Surgical Association. Additionally, he serves on the Board of the Turkish Anti-Cancer Foundation. His work in the field of abdominal wall and hernia surgery is characterized by a consistent engagement with both national and international medical communities.
