Dr. Giulio Basoccu

Professor Giulio Basoccu is a well-known plastic and reconstructive surgeon based in Rome, Italy. He has over 22 years of experience in performing a wide variety of aesthetic procedures, ranging from surgical procedures such as breast augmentation, facelift, abdominoplasty, and liposuction, to non-surgical ones such as Botox, dermal fillers, and laser therapy.

Graduated with honors in Medicine and Surgery from the Sapienza University of Rome in 1993, Dr. Basoccu went on to continue his education in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart a year later and graduated with honors in 1999. Immediately after graduation, he was appointed to head the Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery Division at the Italian Neurotraumatological Institute (Istituto Neurotraumatologico Italiano).

Prof. Giulio Basoccu has completed various specialized courses to hone his skills in surgical techniques and update himself with the latest methods in plastic and reconstructive surgery. He went on several overseas trips in 2000 to attend courses in his field of work, including one in Dallas, the USA on subperiosteal lifting techniques. Having registered with the UK General Medical Council, he also became a consultant surgeon at the National Center of Cosmetic Surgery in Birmingham in 2000.

Professor Basoccu became an adjunct professor at the Sapienza University of Rome in 2002. He is the author of numerous scholarly articles published in leading national and international journals. He also regularly makes TV and radio appearances as a guest to speak about plastic surgery and in 2014 he produced his own TV program “Il Mondo di Giulio” (Giulio’s World) broadcast on Channel 4. In the same year, he also published his book “Il Demiurgo Plastico” (The PlasticDemiurge).

Professor Giulio Basoccu currently visits and offers services to patients from all around the world along with his professional team at his private office, Studio Medico Basoccu, in the heart of Rome.
