Dr. Fuad Ahmed

Dr. Fuad Ahmed, a Consultant in Laparoscopic, Bariatric, and General Surgery at Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi, has a solid educational foundation, having obtained his MBChB from Baghdad University's College of Medicine in 1994. His residency and clinical training were completed at the Medical City Teaching Centre in Baghdad, Iraq, where he further specialized and achieved certification in General Surgery from the Arab Board.

Throughout his career, Dr. Ahmed has been actively involved in professional development and continuous education, participating in various workshops, masterclasses, and international congresses. These have included a Minimal Invasive Surgery Workshop in Sharjah, UAE, and the International Conference on Sleeve Gastrectomy in Montreal, Canada, among others. His dedication to staying abreast of advancements in his field is also demonstrated through his memberships in several prestigious medical societies since 1994, including the Iraqi Medical Association and the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders.

In addition to his academic and professional pursuits, Dr. Ahmed has contributed to the medical field through research and publications on topics such as the etiology of incisional hernias and case studies in bariatric surgery. His areas of expertise cover a wide range of minimally invasive weight loss procedures, including laparoscopic gastric banding, sleeve gastrectomy, and gastric bypass, as well as surgeries involving the thyroid, parathyroid glands, and colorectal areas.

Dr. Ahmed's linguistic skills in Arabic, English, and German enable him to communicate effectively with a diverse patient demographic. His approach to patient care emphasizes a multidisciplinary team strategy to achieve world-class outcomes, involving patients in the decision-making process to ensure they are fully informed about their treatment options.
