Dr. Eray Copcu

Dr. Eray Copcu is recognized for his contributions in the fields of plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery, alongside his involvement in stromal cell treatments and technologies. Holding an MD from Ege University since 1992, he completed his residency in plastic surgery at Izmir Atatürk Teaching and Research Hospital in 1999. Copcu's academic achievements include obtaining his Assistant Professor degree in 2001, Associate Professor degree in 2006, and Professorship in 2011, all from Adnan Menderes University.

Throughout his career, Dr. Copcu has been instrumental in the establishment of the Regenerative Medicine Department at Turkish universities, marking a significant advancement in the field. His research has led to the development and patenting of several key techniques and protocols in Turkey and Korea, including Mechanical SVF Transfer (MEST), Adjustable Regenerative Adipose Transfer (ARAT), and Platelet Very Rich Plasma (PvRP) techniques, reflecting his focus on stromal cells and regenerative treatments over the past six years.

His educational background is rooted in Turkey, where he graduated from Ege (Aegean) University's Medical Faculty. His postgraduate training spans both national and international institutions, including elective positions at St. John's Hospital, University of Edinburgh, and St. James's University Hospital, Leeds University, in the United Kingdom. He also held fellowships in the United States, focusing on burn surgery.

In addition to his clinical and academic pursuits, Dr. Copcu has held several key positions, including the founder and head of departments of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery at both Adnan Menderes and Izmir Universities. His tenure at these institutions also saw him contributing as Vice-Dean and Senator of Medical Faculty, as well as heading surgical disciplines.

Dr. Copcu's private practice has been marked by the establishment of the MEST clinic and the G-CAT (Gene, Cell, and Tissue) Academy, where his work continues to influence the fields of cell therapy, stem cell research, and aesthetic surgery. His contributions to the scientific community include more than 60 refereed articles, patents in stromal cell transfer techniques, and significant involvement in international medical journals as an editor and editorial board member.
