Dr. Ece Kalafatlar

Dr. Ece Kalafatlar completed her medical degree at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 2013, and subsequently specialized in Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery during her residency at the Ministry of Health Istanbul Kartal Dr. Lutfi Kirdar Education and Research Hospital from 2014 to 2019. Dr. Kalafatlar's career includes significant experience in various medical settings, serving as a freelance Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgeon. She worked at the Kars Harakani State Hospital from June 2019 to August 2021, and at the Artvin State Hospital from October 2013 to January 2014.

Her commitment to advancing her surgical skills is evidenced by her participation in the Basic Microsurgery Course at Istanbul Medeniyet University in 2016. Furthermore, Dr. Kalafatlar has been accredited with a certificate for animal use in experimental research by Istanbul Uskudar University in 2015, underscoring her involvement in the ethical and responsible conduct of research.

Dr. Kalafatlar's engagement with the academic community is reflected through her active participation in several notable conferences, including the 23rd International Medical Sciences Student Congress in 2012, the 1st International Participation Stem Cell and Cellular Therapy Congress in 2014, and the 3rd International Congress of the Turkish Cleft Lip and Palate Society in 2016. She has also been involved in the National Congress of Turkish Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery in 2014 and 2018, as well as the National Congress of Turkish Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery in 2017 and 2018.

Her contributions to medical literature include co-authoring research articles in peer-reviewed journals, such as a study on penetrating injuries caused by blunt-edged items published in the Journal of Hand Surgery Asian Pacific Volume in March 2017, and a paper on palmar infection in Dupuytren's patients featured in Hand Microsurgery in 2015. Another significant publication includes her research on squamous cell carcinoma arising from chronic wounds, showcased in the South Clinical Ist Euras.
