About Doctor
Dr. Bahattin Celikoz was born in Elazığ in 1955. He embarked on his medical education at Dicle University Faculty of Medicine in 1976. That same year, he successfully cleared the KKK military student exam, which led him to pursue his medical degree as a military student. By 1981, he had graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, assuming the role of a Medical Lieutenant.
In the subsequent year, Dr. Celikoz enhanced his skills as a trainee doctor at GATA and then served in Samsun from 1982 to 1985. Recognizing the importance of global communication in medicine, he completed a one-year English Language course at Izmir Air Language School in 1984. By 1985, Dr. Celikoz was contributing as an assistant at GATA Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department.
A highlight in his career was in 1987 when he secured the American IMET medical scholarship. This provided him with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience at the Plastic Surgery and Maxillofacial Surgery Clinic within the USA Amelia Earhart Medical Center in Wiesbaden, Germany.
The following years saw him continuously advancing in his field. In 1989, Dr. Celikoz won the South Korean Government's education scholarship, which facilitated him to work and learn at the INJE Faculty of Medicine Plastic, Reconstructive, Craniofacial, Aesthetic, and Microsurgery Center in Seoul for a year.
Further expanding his horizons, Dr. Celikoz then spent a year at the University of California's Irvine Medical School Plastic and Reconstructive and Burn Surgery Clinic in 1996. During this period, he also delved into the clinical applications of laser at the Beckman Laser Institute, subsequently publishing research on these subjects.
1998 was a pivotal year for Dr. Celikoz, as he received the title of University Associate Professor and began serving at GATA Ankara Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department. His commitment led him to be named the Chief of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at GATA Istanbul Haydarpaşa Training Hospital in 2001. By 2004, he had earned the title of Professor, and he decided to retire voluntarily in 2008. Currently, Dr. Celikoz operates as a freelance physician.
