Dr. Ali Gurlek

Dr. Ali Gurlek was born in 1959 in the Saray Village of Ankara Beypazarı. His early education was completed in Beypazarı, and he attended high school at Ankara Atatürk High School. In 1976, he began his journey into medicine at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, which culminated in his graduation in 1983.

Post-graduation, Dr. Gurlek took on the role of a Health Center Physician in Afyon-Sandıklı and Burdur Bucak-Melli District. He also fulfilled his responsibilities as a reserve officer during his military service from 1986-87. In October 1988, he joined the Ankara Numune Hospital First Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Clinic as an assistant. By November 1993, he had specialized in Aesthetic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

In İnönü University Faculty of Medicine Turgut Özal Medical Center Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department in May 1994, he served as Assistant Professor, Head of Department, and Clinical Founder until June 1995.

Dr. Gurlek traveled to the United States in June 1995. He joined The Department of Plastic Surgery, The University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center, as an Observer and Researcher. In September 1996, he moved into the role of Postdoctoral Research Fellow, a position he held until July 1997.

Upon returning to Turkey, Dr. Gurlek resumed work at İnönü University Medical Faculty Turgut Özal Medical Center Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Department. He advanced to Associate Professor in November 1998 and assumed the position of Head of the Department in December of the same year.

Doctor Gurlek was named Professor in January 2004. He contributed to the Aesthetic Surgery Fellowship Program at the ONEP Plastic Surgery Science Institute between March and August 2006. In May 2008, Dr. Gurlek transitioned to Medicana International Hospitals in Istanbul.

He founded the Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery Clinic in Beylikdüzü Hospital and worked there for six months. Starting January 2009, Dr. Gurlek opened a practice in Bakırköy, Istanbul, at the Bakırköy Aesthetic Center.

Dr. Gurlek's area of focus includes breast aesthetic surgeries, body aesthetic surgeries, facial aesthetic surgeries and hair transplants.
