Dr. Abdullah Sisik

Dr. Abdullah Sisik completed his medical education at Ege University Faculty of Medicine, graduating in 2007. Following this achievement, he underwent specialized training in general surgery at Health Sciences University Ümraniye Training and Research Hospital from 2007 to 2012. 

In the subsequent year, Dr. Sisik lent his expertise as a General Surgery Specialist at Bingöl State Hospital. However, his association with Ümraniye Training and Research Hospital was rekindled in 2014 when he resumed his role there as a General Surgery Specialist. From 2014 to 2021, Dr. Sisik honed his skills in specific areas such as bariatric and colorectal surgery. Notably, during his tenure at this institution, he facilitated over 1000 bariatric surgeries and took on a mentorship role, guiding assistants in their familiarization with bariatric surgical procedures.

His commitment to medical advancement was evident when he collaborated with Prof. Bruno Dillemans in Belgium during 2018 and 2019, focusing on bariatric surgery techniques. Dr. Sisik's contributions to the medical field were recognized in 2019 when he was conferred the title of Associate Professor by the Inter-University Board. 

In the realm of academic publishing, Dr. Sisik has been prolific. He has authored over 50 scientific articles, which have been featured in both international and national journals, and presented almost 100 papers at various global and local congresses. Furthermore, he played an integral role in the foundation of the Archives of Clinical and Experimental Medicine journal in 2016. By 2020, he was entrusted with the responsibility of being its editor-in-chief, a position he holds to date. As of 2021, Dr. Sisik continues his practice, serving patients from his private clinic.
