Will the stiffness and hardness of my nose decrease over time?

I am 18 days post-septorhinoplasty and have noticed that my nose feels quite firm and rigid. Can I expect it to become more supple and regain a natural feel over time? I underwent this procedure to correct issues that arose after a netball accident two years ago, which resulted in a prominent bump on my nose and a deviated septum. The surgery involved removing the bump, straightening my nose, and refining it by removing some cartilage. My ENT specialist mentioned that the rigidity and firmness might persist indefinitely in some cases. Is this true?

It is common for a nose to be hard and stiff after a rhinoplasty surgery. 18 days is a very early stage in the healing process, so it is quite normal for your nose to be hard and stiff. The tip is usually last to soften and lose the swelling, so it may take up to a year and sometimes more for your whole nose to feel soft and normal to you.

Hope this helps
