What is the recommended waiting period after getting a dental implant before attempting to conceive?
What is the recommended waiting period after getting a dental implant before attempting to conceive? Can conceiving too soon after the implant procedure lead to implant failure? My husband and I are currently planning to expand our family, and I had a dental implant procedure in November. Our preference is to delay getting the crown if that's possible. If I become pregnant, would they still proceed with placing the crown? I've heard that the crown is simply screwed on. Could you please advise me on how long I should wait after my dental implant to conceive? Are there risks of implant failure or complications for the fetus if I become pregnant too soon after the procedure? I'm in need of a clear timeline for guidance. Thank you for your assistance.
Ideally implants need 3 months in the lower jaw 4 months in the upper jaw for healing. Earlier loading might compromise the connection between the bone and implant. Therefore implant fail might be seen. In pregnancy implants can not be placed in the bone however, we can make restorations on implants that is present in the bone.
