What is the level of safety associated with fat transfer to the upper eyelid?
Hi, The routine fat injection to the face includes, cheekbones, lips, temporal areas, lateral (outer) eyebrows, lower eyelids. Upper eyelids are not a routine injection site but we sometimes use fat injection in the upper eyelids for patients who has undergone an upper blepharoplasty before, to restore the over-excision of fat from the upper eyelids. Unless the fat is injected behind the orbital septum and in copious amounts, it's very unlikely to cause any complications.
