Dr. Tamer Erdem

Tamer Erdem, with extensive expertise in Otolaryngology and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, has built a prominent career focusing on the intricate procedure of closed rhinoplasty.

Beginning his educational journey in 1987 at Ege University Faculty of Medicine, Erdem proceeded to a specialization track in the university's Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Department. He spent a year at the same department as a specialist following his graduation in 1998, and later served at Izmir Cesme State Hospital for one year.

The journey took Erdem to İnönü University Faculty of Medicine's ENT Department in 2001. Over the years, he progressed from Assistant Professor to Associate Professor, finally achieving the title of Professor in 2011. In 2014, he moved to Acıbadem University Faculty of Medicine's ENT Department, where he continued his professorship until 2022, while also leading the department between 2017 and 2022.

During his tenure at Acıbadem University, Erdem also offered his clinical services at Acıbadem Kadıköy Hospital and Acıbadem Altunizade Hospital from 2014 to 2022. His commitment to professional development led him to the USA in 2004, where he underwent six months of training in renowned institutions such as Larrabee Facial Plastic Surgery Center, Virginia Mason Hospital's Department of Otolaryngology Facial Plastic Surgery Center, and the University of Washington School of Medicine's Department of Otolaryngology.

Outside institutional work, Erdem actively participated in several organizations. He held a board position at the Facial Plastic Surgery Association Founders Board from 2005 to 2022, and served as Vice President and later Head of Facial Plastic Surgery School between 2013 and 2016. His experience and knowledge were utilized as part of the Turkish ENT and BBC Proficiency Board Examination Committee and later, the Proficiency Executive Board.
