Dr. Rana Anadolu

Prof. Dr. Rana Anadolu, a graduate of Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, has had a career centered around dermatology and dermatopathology. After completing their education in Ankara, including primary, secondary, and high school at TED Ankara College, Dr. Anadolu pursued higher education in medicine with a focus on dermatology, graduating in 1986.

Dr. Anadolu's early medical experience included internships in pediatrics and internal medicine at St Luke's Hospital, University of Malta. This period was part of an international medical student exchange programme. Following their graduation, they began working in the Department of Dermatology at Ankara University.

The choice to specialize in dermatopathology was influenced by experiences and opportunities during their internship. Dr. Anadolu's training included studying under German-American professors from Tufts University and receiving training in Germany on dermatopathology and dermatoimmunopathology. This training led to the establishment of the first Dermatoimmunopathology Laboratory in Turkey at their clinic.

Dr. Anadolu further expanded their expertise with a dermatopathology fellowship under Prof. Dr. Bernard Ackerman in the United States, at institutions like Thomas Jefferson University and NYU Medical School. They also had a brief observership in the Dermatology Department of Sapporo University Faculty of Medicine in Japan.

Throughout their career, Dr. Anadolu has been involved in various roles and contributions to dermatology. They have received awards for their studies in immunohistochemistry and dermatoimmunopathology and have been active in international dermatological organizations. Dr. Anadolu also contributed to the field through roles in Turkish dermatological societies and health commissions.

In 2012, Dr. Anadolu founded the IDEA (International Dermatology-Dermatopathology, Esthetics & Anti-aging Academy), facilitating international collaboration and education in dermatology.

Apart from their medical career, Dr. Anadolu has engaged in literary pursuits, writing essays, articles, and poems on various subjects. Currently, Dr. Anadolu practices in their dermatology clinic, continuing their work in the field of dermatology and dermatopathology.
