Dr. Osman Kelahmetoglu

Dr. Osman Kelahmetoğlu is a Turkish plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgeon. He was born in Adana in southern Türkiye and graduated from high school in his hometown in 1999. Dr. Kelahmetoğlu entered Gaziantep University Faculty of Medicine and left the university with a Doctor of Medicine degree in 2005. He pursued his specialty training at the department of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of Ondokuz Mayıs University in Samsun, finishing it in 2011.

Dr. Kelahmetoğlu completed fellowship and observership programs during his residency. He worked as a clinical fellow on “aesthetic surgery and body shaping” at El Paso Cosmetic Surgery Center in Texas, USA. He also spent some time as a clinical observer at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) to receive training on “post-bariatric body shaping surgery”. 

Having completed his medical education and training, Dr. Kelahmetoğlu started working as a plastic surgeon at Tarsus State Hospital to serve his compulsory service. He joined Bezmialem Vakıf University, Department of Plastic Surgery in 2014 as a lecturer and later got promoted to Assistant Professor and Associate Professor in 2017 and 2018, respectively. Dr. Kelahmetoğlu has been working at Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Plastic Surgery since November 2020.

Dr. Osman Kelahmetoğlu won the international scholarship presented by the Turkish Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery and worked as a clinical fellow on “Aesthetic-Reconstructive Breast Surgery and Perforator Flaps” at Gent University in Belgium for 3 months. He also gained the “Young Plastic Surgeons” scholarship awarded by the European Society of Plastic Surgery (EURAPS) and worked as a clinical fellow on “Reconstructive Breast Surgery” at Helsinki University in Finland in 2017.

Dr. Kelahmetoğlu is a prolific researcher with over 50 scientific articles published in national and international journals.
