Dr. Mustafa Durgun

Dr. Mustafa Durgun has distinguished himself in the field of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery through a rigorous academic and professional journey that commenced after graduating from Gazi University Faculty of Medicine in 2003. His postgraduate training began at Ankara Atatürk Training and Research Hospital in 2004, where he delved into the intricacies of his chosen specialty.

The year 2006 marked a pivotal point in Dr. Durgun's career when he furthered his studies at Showa University in Tokyo, Japan, recognized globally for its excellence in plastic surgery. This experience broadened his expertise and contributed to his completion of plastic surgery training in 2010, culminating in his specialization.

Dr. Durgun's commitment to service and education continued as he fulfilled his mandatory service at Ankara Dışkapı Yıldırım Beyazıt Training and Research Hospital. His academic career progressed at Dicle University Faculty of Medicine, where he initially served as an Assistant Associate Professor. In 2014, his academic journey took him to Katip Çelebi University Faculty of Medicine, where, following his appointment as an Assistant Associate Professor, he achieved the rank of Associate Professor in 2017.

Throughout his career, Dr. Durgun has been at the forefront of medical innovation. His contributions to the medical literature include pioneering techniques in embedded nipple surgery without severing milk ducts, exploring the tissue healing effects of magnetic fields from mobile phones, and advancing nose repair with perforator flaps. Notably, his work on nose wing repair techniques garnered the cover feature in the Annals of Plastic Surgery, attesting to the significance of his contributions to the field.

Dr. Durgun's prolific research output includes 32 articles in international peer-reviewed journals, 37 papers presented at international scientific meetings, 12 articles in national peer-reviewed journals, and 360 papers at national scientific meetings, reflecting his dedication to advancing plastic surgery.

Fluent in Turkish and English, Dr. Durgun continues to enrich the medical community with his clinical practice and research, currently focusing his scientific studies at Katip Çelebi University Faculty of Medicine.
