Dr. Mehmet Ali Gurer

Dr. Mehmet Ali Gurer, a dermatology specialist, began his academic pursuit at Dicle University and later specialized in Dermatology at Ankara University’s Faculty of Medicine in 1973. 

By 1977, Dr. Gurer had advanced to the role of Dermatology specialist at the same university. His career progressed with his appointment as an Associate Professor in 1982. Subsequently, in 1984, he was named the Head of the Department of Skin and Venereal Diseases at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine.

Dr. Gurer’s academic contributions were further acknowledged when he attained the position of Professor in 1988. His administrative roles during this period included Deputy Chief Physician, Chief Physician, and Deputy Dean. From 1992 to 1998, he held the position of Dean of Gazi University Faculty of Medicine.

In addition to his roles in Turkey, Dr. Gurer was involved in international dermatology communities. He was a board member of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology from 2006 to 2009 and the International Society of Dermatology from 2008 to 2013. Since 2012, he has been the president of the National Psoriasis Association.

Dr. Gurer has been practicing in his private clinic since 2017.
