After graduation, Dr. Gürgey dedicated his initial years to serving as a physician in various health centers in Erzincan Mercan, Karamerkez, and Sarıkamış. His commitment to service extended to fulfilling his military duty between 1972 and 1974. 

Dr. Gürgey's academic journey deepened with a specialization in Skin and Venereology at Ankara University, beginning in 1970.
