Dr. Cigdem Unal

Dr. Cigdem Unal is an accomplished individual in the field of Plastic Surgery. Her interest in the profession can be traced back to her family roots, with a strong lineage of surgeons. She received her medical education at Istanbul University, Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty. Her thesis in Plastic Surgery received notable acknowledgment at two separate congresses.

Her medical journey was enriched with international exposure as she undertook surgical rotations at St’ Thomas’ Hospital and Sheffield Teaching Hospital in the United Kingdom. Further enhancing her qualifications, Dr. Unal successfully secured the European board certification following her board certification in plastic surgery.

Dr.Cigdem Unal holds an associate professorship in Plastic Surgery and has completed her fellowship in breast reconstructive & aesthetic surgery at Ghent University. Her career path includes a tenure at the Acibadem Hospitals group as an associate professor of plastic surgery for four years. Currently, she serves at the Acibadem Hospitals group on a part-time basis, along with managing her own private practice.

Dr. Unal is associated with several professional societies, among which are the Turkish Society of Plastic Surgeons, Turkish Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, American Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. Her academic contributions include over 20 peer-reviewed publications in the domain of plastic surgery, and she has delivered numerous lectures and presentations at national and international platforms.

In her practice, Dr. Cigdem Unal places great emphasis on providing high standards of care and an understanding approach to each patient.
