Dr. Cem Yildirim

Dr. Cem Yildirim is a plastic surgeon certified by the European Board. His practice and research revolve around aesthetic and reconstructive surgery. 

Currently, he serves as the Chief Resident at the Department of Plastic Surgery, Meram Faculty of Medicine, Necmettin Erbakan University, Konya, Turkey. 

In addition to his practice, Dr. Yildirim has been involved in educating medical students and junior residents. He has participated in national and international conferences, where he has presented on a variety of topics. 

Dr. Yildirim's previous collaborations have included working under Prof. Hung Chi Chen in 2019 at China Medical University Hospital, Taiwan, specializing in reconstructive microsurgery. In 2020, he focused on facial aesthetics and body contouring under Dr. Dirk Richter at Dreifeltigkeits Krankenhaus, Cologne, Germany. In 2021, he worked on breast reconstruction and aesthetic with Prof. Phillip Blondeel at Ghent University, Belgium.

He has also participated in professional committees, including the ASMR Young Microsurgeon Committee in 2019 and the PSRC Tech Committee during the 2019 – 2021 period. He provides review services for plastic surgery journals, such as Plastic Reconstructive Surgery (PRS), Journal of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (JPRAS), and PRS Global Open.

Dr. Yildirim has contributed 38 articles to international and national journals and has spoken at national and international conferences. He is listed as an author in the book 'Principles and Practice of Lymphatic Surgery 2e'. He has been the recipient of two TUBITAK international scholarships and the Plastic Surgery Education and Development Foundation 2021 abroad scholarship.

He served on the committee of the Plastic Surgery Research Council and has been involved with the PSRC Tech Committee during the 2019 – 2021 periods. 

Doctor Yildirim performed a free tissue transplantation at Bilecik Training and Research Hospital, a complex procedure involving the transfer of tissues from the arms and legs to the facial veins to reconstruct 80 percent of a patient's lip lost to lower lip cancer.

Overall, Dr. Yildirim's work primarily centers around plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery, and he is involved in various capacities in the field, from practice to education and research.
