Dr. Aret Cerci Ozkan

Dr. Aret Cerci Ozkan, born in 1971, completed his medical education at Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, specializing in the Department of English Medicine, in 1995. Subsequent educational and professional endeavors allowed him to delve into specialized areas of the medical field.

In 1993, while still a medical student, Dr. Ozkan was involved in the organization of the "International Cardiology Student Days", an international student symposium, and undertook an internal medicine internship at Russel-Hall Hospital in Birmingham, England. Dr. Ozkan facilitated the 1995 English Medical Graduates' diploma ceremony.

Pursuing specialization in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 1996 at Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Ozkan spent six years receiving relevant training. In 2002, he engaged in a brief period of professional activity in the plastic surgery department of Agatha Krankenhaus, Cologne, Germany, and completed a thesis on 'post-cancer breast reconstruction', subsequently obtaining a specialist title in Aesthetic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

Professional undertakings between 2002 and 2007 saw Dr. Ozkan serving at Surp Pırgiç Armenian Hospital as a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Specialist. From 2007 to 2015, he operated a private practice in Nişantaşı, moving to Bakırköy in 2015.

Dr. Ozkan has produced 33 clinical articles related mainly to rhinoplasty and nose repair, and developed and patented three surgical hand tools intended for use in rhinoplasty surgeries. He has actively presented lectures on plastic surgery and other medical fields at various association meetings and schools.

In 2019, Dr. Ozkan became affiliated with Kocaeli Health and Technology University as a faculty member. The same year, a scientific article of his was recognized in the Expert Research Competition organized by the Turkish Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Association.

On February 19, 2021, Dr. Ozkan was conferred the title of ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR in Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery by the Interuniversity Board. He maintains full membership in several medical and surgical associations, including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and The Rhinoplasty Society of Europe.

In a different vein, Dr. Ozkan’s non-professional activities involve creating objects from clay and plaster, musical pursuits involving the piano, flute, and cello, and collecting various items. He penned a book titled "My Remembrances" in 2003, translated the "Nag Hammadi Inscriptions" into Turkish in 2008, and released an instrumental audio CD, "Nar", in 2012.

The father of two daughters, Dr. Ozkan also communicates proficiently in English.
