Dr. Ali Durmus

Dr. Ali Durmus was born in Gaziantep's Fevzipaşa sub-district. He embarked on his educational journey in various cities due to his father's occupation as a civil servant. Dr. Durmus began his early schooling in Malatya and Adıyaman, followed by his secondary education in Amasya. He graduated from Gaziantep Kilis High School with commendable rankings.

Following high school, Dr. Durmus pursued his undergraduate studies at Çanakkale Education Institute, where he graduated with a teaching degree. After teaching in Ağrı's Yukarı Tutak village for a brief period, he decided to further his academic aspirations. Dr. Durmus was accepted into Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine, a notable institution for its English-taught medical programs. He successfully completed a year of English preparatory education and continued with six years of rigorous medical training. During his tenure at the university, he actively participated in extracurricular activities, being part of the ski and basketball teams and taking part in organizing significant annual events.

After graduating from Erciyes University, Dr. Durmus served at Iskenderun State Hospital as part of his mandatory service. He subsequently pursued specialization in General Surgery at Okmeydanı Training and Research Hospital. Upon completion, he contributed to the Oncology Department at the same hospital, eventually taking on roles to further medical training and research. Dr. Durmus played a pivotal role in advancing laparoscopic stomach and intestinal surgeries in Turkey during his tenure between 2002 and 2015, mentoring numerous medical assistants and aiding them in becoming general surgeons.

In 2015, Dr. Durmus transitioned to an academic role at Nişantaşı University, contributing as an Assistant Professor. By 2017, he founded the Clinic Obesity, where he presently serves both as a manager and a dedicated physician.
