Dr. Ahmet Ziya Balta

Dr. Ahmet Ziya Balta was born in Trabzon in 1972. He completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Trabzon. In 1989, he enrolled in the Gülhane Military Medical Academy Military Medicine Faculty, from which he graduated in 1996.

Dr. Balta has gathered experience in bariatric surgery, having participated in over 2500 obesity operations. This experience was enhanced by working with Dr. Bruno Dillemans' team in Belgium. He is a member of various national and international bariatric surgery organizations, and especially General Surgery associations.

• 2000-2001: Assigned as a doctor for the 3rd J. Private Training Battalion in Emirdağ, Afyon.
• 2001-2002: Chief Medical Officer for the 3rd J Private Training Brigade in Bilecik.
• 2002-2006: Undertook his specialization at GATA Haydarpaşa Training Hospital in Istanbul.
• 2006-2009: Served as a General Surgery Specialist at Şırnak Military Hospital.
• 2009-2015: Appointed as a General Surgery Specialist at GATA Haydarpaşa Training Hospital in Istanbul.
• 2016-2019: Worked as an Associate Professor at the SBU Hamidiye Faculty of Medicine in the Department of General Surgery in Istanbul.
